The new World Bank-EU technical assistance project launched in 2021, implemented by the World Bank (WB), builds on their previous successful engagement in supporting public finance management reform in Georgia and aims to align fiscal governance with the EU fiscal and budgetary standards. The project serves to promote institutional development of those public institutions involved in the “Economic Governance and Fiscal Accountability programme of the European Union. The 3 years programme financed from the Trust Fund amounts to 2.2 million Euros allocated by the European Union.
Conducted actitivies:
- To improve the methodological base of the audit and the quality control system, the issues of revenue audit, planning and risk assessment, materiality components, creation of a manual, procedures and training needs, tax revenue accounting, revenue mobilization, IT audit qulity, have been discussed during the expert meetings. The training serves to strengthen revenue audit capacity, audits of government consolidated financial statements prepared according to IPSAS standards, and audits at the municipal level.
Planned actitivies:
- Further building the SAO capacity to conduct revenue audit, audit of state consolidated financial statement and auditing on subnational levels in accordance with IPSAS.
