Delegation of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) visited the State Audit Office of Georgia.
USAID Mission Director, Peter Wiebler, and the Auditor General Irakli Mekvabishvili discussed the areas of cooperation related to the continued support from the USAID. Over the meeting, the parties summarized ongoing processes and results of the projects implemented by the State Audit Office with the support of USAID. Among these projects are the training of the SAO auditors in performance aud in collaboration with the US Government Accountability Office (GAO), promoting professional development of the SAO auditors, efficacy of the SAO audit recommendation implementation system (ARIS.GE) and audit recommendation impact assessment, as well as strengthening SAO IT audit infrastructure.
Auditor General Irakli Mekvabishvili, and Deputy Auditor General Ekaterine Ghazadze also discussed the status of implementation of the measures defined by the action strategy of the State Audit Office, current challenges and different working with the Covid pandemic.
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has been working with the State Audit Office since 2013.
