A regular meeting of the Standing Working Group on Audit Reports has been convened in the Parliament participated by the auditors of the State Audit Office presenting two performance audit reports.
Mariam Maghradze, the Head of the Information Technology Service of the Performance Audit Department, introduced the audit report on performance of IT project management in the public sector to the MPs. The report covering six government agencies examined timeliness of IT projects in the public sector and cost accounting / budgeting, the extent of effective coordination mechanisms developed by the government in implementing IT projects, and effectiveness of the legal and methodological environment for managing the IT projects. The auditors also answered the questions of the MPs regarding the findings and recommendations reflected in the report.
Giorgi Kekelishvili, the Head of the Public Service Department of the State Audit Office, presented also a report on the "Performance Audit of Providing Legal Aid to Citizens" to the members of the Working Group followed by discussion about the status of implementation of the recommendations with the audit object - the Legal Aid Service.
All the auditees participating in the meeting agreed with the recommendations issued by the State Audit Office, with most of them already implemented and with the ongoing appropriate measures.
