With the involvement of the State Audit Office, the annual Forum of the Eastern Partnership EaP of the European Union of Supreme Audit Institutions (SAI) was convened in Riga (Latvia).
The representatives of the supreme audit authorities of the participating countries - Latvia, Georgia, Moldova and Azerbaijan discussed the possibilities of institutional development at the regional level, the perspectives of cooperation with the stakeholders and strategic initiatives for the next year. The participants of the forum were hosted by the Auditor General of the State Audit Office of the Republic of Latvia and by the President of Latvia, Egils Levits.
The Forum of Supreme Audit Institutions of the Eastern Partnership and EU neighbourhood countries was created within the framework of the Latvian State Audit Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs project - "Capacity building of the Supreme Audit Institutions of Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine in the enhanced application of the International Standards of Auditing".
The aim of the project is to support the State Audit Office of Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine in their efforts to carry out professional activities in accordance with the international auditing standards.
The State Audit Office was represented at the EaP Forum by Tsotne Karkashadze, Head of the State Budget and Strategic Analysis Department, Giorgi Kekelishvili, Head of the General State Services Audit Department, and Nino Kereselidze, Head of International and Donor Relations Division.
