The State Audit Office expands its cooperation with the Center for Audit Excellence (CAE) of the US Supreme Audit Institution (GAO).
In order to discuss areas of cooperation, the State Audit Office hosted the delegation from the Center for Audit Excellence (CAE).
Cooperation within the ongoing project with the Center for Audit Excellence (CAE), has been implemented with the support of the US Agency for International Development (USAID), which provides fosters impact of recommendations assessment practices of performance audits in the State Audit Office.
At the meeting, the Auditor General Tsotne Kavlashvili informed Katherine Siggerud, the Director of the Center for Audit Excellence (CAE), Stephen Lord, the representative of the CAE, and USAID Regional Controller John Sahn about the performance audits carried out within the project.
Within the scope of the project, the State Audit Office, with the involvement of the experts from the Center for Audit Excellence (CAE), used the assessment practices of recommendations impact in three performance audits.
The parties also discussed issues of prosepective cooperation within the framework of the project, including implementation of the impact assessment mechanism, creation of appropriate guidelines, quality management, extending ethics practice.
The meeting with the CAE delegation has also been attended by the Head of State Budget and Strategic Analysis Department Tsotne Karkashadze, Head of Performance Audit Department Giorgi Kapanadze, Head of Donor Relations Nino Kereselidze and USAID Financial Analyst Aleksandre Nasidze.
