The World Bank provided support to launch the project to enhance Information Technology (IT) auditing 12 December, 2023

In order to strengthen the IT audit, the State Audit Office has launched a new project, which will be implemented by the Georgian and Turkish offices of the "Big Four" auditing and consulting company EY with the support of the World Bank.

Within the scope of the project, 35 auditors from the State Audit Office and 6 interns in IT audit will take the IT audit training course at the first stage. It is also planned to conduct two pilot audits. The project aims to develop a certification program for IT auditors, enhance and automate quality control and quality assurance procedures.

In connection with the start of the project, a working meeting was convened with the EY representation at the State Audit Office, which was attended by the Deputy Auditor General Sophio Dvalishvili, the Head of the Performance Audit Department Giorgi Kapanadze, the Head of the State Budget and Strategic Analysis Department Tsotne Karkashadze and the IT consultant of the Audit Office Anzor Mekhrishvili.
