The State Audit Office of Georgia became a member of the Network of Supreme Audit Institutions of EU candidate countries.
After granting the EU candidate country status to Georgia, the SAI of Georgia joined the auditory community at the invitation of the Audit Court of Moldova, which is currently a presiding country of the Network of Supreme Audit Institutions of EU Candidate and Potential Candidate Countries.
At this stage, the members of the Network of Supreme Audit Institutions of EU candidate countries are the Audit Offices of Georgia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Moldova, Macedonia, Albania, Serbia, Turkey, Ukraine, Kosovo (with an observer status).
The Network, together with the European Court of Auditors, aims to support the Supreme Audit Institutions of the candidate countries in achieving the EU membership, through the exchange of professional knowledge and experience, strengthening accountability, improving financial management and good governance.
