The State Audit Office will conduct audits of 20 large state enterprises the annual audit coverage of which is determined by the five-year strategy of the Office.
Today the standing audit group on audit reports at the parliament discussed the “Georgian Gas Transportation Company” with the representatives of the auditees.
The Georgian Gas Transportation Company is responsible for the smooth, consistent, and secure transportation of natural gas and the proper functioning of major gas pipelines. Transporting natural gas for customers in Georgia's cities and villages, industrial and electricity facilities, and transit purposes. Additionally, the company handles the necessary design and construction tasks for gasifying the settlement.
The State Audit Office having checked the compliance of the enterprise's 2022 financial and economic activity based on its findings issued recommendations for improving activity. Recommendations include monitoring gas quality, metering point scheduled inspections, logistics service adjustments, and improving the company's investment management.
„Delta“, „Georgia Melioration“, „Georgia Oil and Gas Corporation“, „Electricity System Commercial Operator“ (ESCO), and „Engur HPP” have been audited by the State Audit Office this year. “Sandasuptaveba” LLC's report has already been published.
The State Audit Office conducted audits on 17 state enterprises from 2018 to 2022.
The state currently has approximately 400 state-owned enterprises operating with the participation of the state, as per the available data.
