STATE AUDIT OFFICE OF GEORGIA

At the meeting with representatives of the World Bank, the results of the technical assistance project were evaluated 11 June, 2024

The project to strengthen the professional capacity of auditors supported by the World Bank and the European Union has been completed.

The project included strengthening professional capacities in the directions defined as priorities by the strategy of the Office. Accordingly, more than 90 auditors have completed the International Standards Training Program in conducting government consolidated financial statements, Information Technology (IT) audits, and IPSAS Standards.

The working group of the World Bank, under the leadership of the head of the delegation Patrick Umah Tete, evaluated the achievements and results of the project at the meeting with Auditor General Tsotne Kavlashvili and Deputy Auditor General Sophio Dvalishvili. The project has been implemented within the scope of the EU "Economic Governance and Fiscal Accountability Program" at the State Audit Office for two years.

The World Bank also supports the process of obtaining certificates of professional competences by auditors. 11 auditors have already received international certificates of competence after completing the INTOSAI Development Initiative (IDI) one-year professional education program (PESA) and passing the relevant exams.

Also, within the scope of the project, World Bank experts provide consultations to the team of auditors, which conducts two pilot IT audits.
