The State Audit Office (SAO) of Georgia, as an active partner of INTOSAI/IDI and the leading Supreme Audit Institution in the region, joined IDI's bilateral support project GSAI (Global SAI Accountability Initiative) as a mentor, and from next year, Supreme Audit Institution of Tajikistan will officially become its beneficiary.
The project works for SAIs of eight countries that are keen to implement international auditing standards in the organization and professional development to improve strategic and operational planning.
Within the framework of the three-day working visit, representatives of the SAI of Tajikistan had the opportunity to learn about the experience, practice, and implemented innovations at the SAO directly during the meetings with the heads of departments and auditors.
The topics of the workshops were risk-based audit planning, audit quality control and quality assurance, financial and compliance audits, monitoring the implementation of recommendations, and stakeholder communication practices.
Within the framework of the GSAI project, the first working meeting was held in April, during the visit of representatives of the SAO to Dushanbe (Tajikistan).
