Representatives of the Supreme Audit Institution of Latvia held working meetings with the State Audit Office of Georgia to discuss opportunities for enhancing implementation of recommendations impact and stakeholders engagement.
During the two-day working meeting hosted in Tbilisi at the State Audit Office, the SAIs discussed opportunities for enhancing the impact of recommendation implementation and involving stakeholders in this process. During the meeting, they mentioned the role of diverse stakeholders, including academic institutions, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and the media, as key instruments to advance the adoption of audit recommendations.
The working meetings also included a session focusing on familiarizing participants with Latvia's budget planning practices and discussions on international budget planning standards. They also presented their new approaches to public finance control to the colleagues.
SAI Latvia has been supporting the Georgian colleagues in a long-standing cooperation, helping build a transparent and effective system of public funds control.
