STATE AUDIT OFFICE OF GEORGIA

Tornike Shermadini is elaborating the new INTOSAI IDI Global Manual 23 October, 2024

The State Audit Office of Georgia contributes to strengthening the practices of Supreme Audit Institutions worldwide.

At the invitation of INTOSAI IDI, Tornike Shermadini, the Head of the Economic Activity Audit Department, is collaborating with an experts group to develop a new global manual, "Diagnostic Tool for Sustainable Audit Practice."

A workshop was held in Oslo, Norway bringing together experts from the UK National Audit Office (NAO), Georgia, OLACEF, EUROSAI, and ASOSAI.

After a rigorous approval process, the manual will be disseminated to over 190 INTOSAI member SAIs. It will empower SAIs to conduct comprehensive assessments of their needs for establishing, developing, and maintaining sustainable auditing practices.

INTOSAI IDI intends to further support SAIs by assisting them in self-assessments. These assessments will enable SAIs to develop tailored action plans for implementing sustainable auditing practices.

Tornike Shermadini has contributed to several other initiatives led by INTOSAI IDI, including the development of the iCAT tool for compliance with international standards, an audit quality assurance initiative, and financial audit methodology guidelines widely adopted by leading audit organizations globally.
