The annual meeting of the INTOSAI Working Group on Information Technology Audit (WGITA) was recently convened in Nairobi, Kenya's capital. Nearly 20 Supreme Audit Institutions from various countries participated in the conference. Giorgi Kapanadze, Head of the Performance Audit Department, and IT Auditor Giorgi Molashvili were among the participants, actively engaging with their international counterparts.
During the annual meeting, participating SAIs reviewed the working group's accomplishments and discussed priorities for the upcoming year. The WGITA 2024-2030 plan aims to introduce innovative approaches to information systems audits, thereby enhancing the quality and performance of IT audits.
Additionally, the seminar featured a presentation on CUBE, a platform developed by the WGITA. This platform enables INTOSAI member organizations to consolidate their audit findings into a single database, facilitating cross-border analysis without language barriers.
Working group members exchanged practices and experiences. IT auditors from nine SAIs presented challenges and innovations in information technology, including raising technological awareness, attracting qualified personnel, and the role of IT audits in financial audits.
