Presentation of Audit Results on Climate Change at the International Conference 13 November, 2024

Head of the Economic Activities Audit Department Tornike Shermadini and Lead Auditor Anna Burdiashvili participated in the International Conference on Climate and Environment organized by the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

Tornike Shermadini presented the State Audit Report on the Audit Results highlighting its contribution to mitigating risks caused by climate change. He emphasized the role of the State Audit Office in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 13 (SDG13 - Ensuring Climate Resilience). The conference also covered future challenges for Supreme Audit Institutions in terms of accountability and transparency in climate policy.

The State Audit Office conduct annual audits in sectors related to climate change management, actively participating in both international and regional audits.

The International Forum on Climate and Environment was held in Seoul, Republic of Korea, with the participation of auditors and experts from beneficiary countries of the ADB technical assistance  project.

Representatives of the ADB have expressed their readiness to continue supporting parties involved in climate change management to mitigate negative impacts of climate-related changes.
