The second Global Summit on SAI Audits Contributing Digitalisation and Sustainability of the INTOSAI Development Initiative (IDI) took place in Tbilisi, bringing together around 100 representatives from over 30 countries.The IDI Global Summit, highlighting the pivotal role of SAI’s in advancing digitalization and sustainability, commenced by Tsotne Kavlashvili, Auditor General as a Head of the State Audit Office of the host nation. Opening remarks were delivered by Bruno Dantas, President of SAI of Brazil and Chair of the INTOSAI Governing Council, and Einar Gørissen, Director General of the INTOSAI Development Initiative (IDI).
"It is an honor to host leaders of Supreme Audit Institutions, as well as key stakeholders from the INTOSAI community, including representatives from international organizations, donor agencies, professional bodies, and academia. The IDI Summit provides an invaluable platform for SAI to collaborate in the development of professional strategies for digitalization and sustainability. These efforts play a crucial role in strengthening government accountability, improving public financial management systems, and fostering good governance within the public sector" remarked Tsotne Kavlashvili.
The Auditor General presented the digital platforms of the SAO, along with the outcomes of audit activities conducted in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), to the summit participants.
The two-day summit featured a series of presentations aimed at sharing experiences, panel discussions, and collaborative brainstorming sessions focused on strategy development. Additionally, the summit provided a platform for the exploration of pertinent topics for joint action in alignment with the United Nations 2030 Agenda, including sustainable development, inclusion and equality, climate action, and technological innovation.
