The LOTA (Leveraging on Technological Advancement) working group meeting of the INTOSAI Development Initiative (IDI) was held in Tbilisi to assess the results of the project first phase (stage) and to determine the updated design of the program for the future.
LOTA is a project of the INTOSAI IDI that helps Supreme Audit Institutions keep up with the rapid development of technology. The initiative supports development of technological strategies for audit offices and enhances the opportunity to conduct audits in emerging technologies (such as blockchain, Big Data, cloud services, IoT, and others).
IDI has developed a technological curriculum, and after its completion, participants are being engaged in practical activities. The State Audit Office (SAO) is in the final stages of completing the audit under the LOTA framework, while work on the technological strategy remains ongoing.
The SAO is represented by Giorgi Kapanadze, Head of the Performance Audit Department, and Salome Manjgaladze, Senior Auditor in the LOTA working group.
