The International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) Development Initiative (IDI) expresses its gratitude to the State Audit Office of Georgia for providing valuable input into the project LEG SAI aimed at strengthening the role of Supreme Audit Institutions (SAI) Legal Units as the first line of defence in safeguarding SAI Independence for the efficient accomplishment of its tasks.
Nato Zaalishvili has been involved in this project to provide expert support to this new INTOSAI/IDI initiative, which aims to assist Supreme Audit Institutions worldwide enhance their independence by adopting successful practices in reforming legal frameworks.
Representatives from the Supreme Audit Institutions of Georgia, Poland, Greece, Mexico, New Zealand, South Africa, The Gambia, and Papua New Guinea, as well as delegates from IDI, AFROSAI-E, and the academic legal community, collaborated to discuss respective issues and develop an implementation plan for the LEGSAI initiative.
The most recent working group meeting was held in Warsaw at the State Audit Office of Poland, where Nato Zaalishvili presented insights into the legal reform experience of the State Audit Office of Georgia. Her engagement was highly appreciated for having great contribution to the success of the event.
