Today, on October 19, Auditor General Irakli Mekvabishvili and Deputy Auditor General Ekaterine Gazadze held meeting with the Head of Development Cooperation South Caucasus of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Georgia Daniel Haas, GIZ Country Director Marie Schäfer, Team leader GIZ Programm "Public Financial Management in the South Caucasus" Christian Döring and PFM Advisor of the program Inga Inga Sinjikashvili.
2018-2022 strategic development goals of the State Audit Office, further enhancement of these goals, quality raising, audit activities and financial monitoring of political parties were discussed at the meeting.
The German side expressed its readiness to continue its close cooperation with the State Audit Office, particularly in the framework of GIZ program "Public Finance Management in the South Caucasus", especially to promote its organizational, functional and financial independence, to cooperate with the Parliament of Georgia, as well as to further improve the preparation of the performance audit and state budget annual reports.
At the end of the meeting, Auditor General appreciated participants of the meeting for their support and rendered assistance.
