On November 6-7, meetings of the representatives of the State Audit Office and the Parliament of Georgia, initiated by GIZ, took place in Telavi concerning working group on parliamentary oversight. The meetings were held in a round-table format.
Working group on parliamentary oversight was established within the framework of the Budget and Finance Committee of the Parliament and aim of this group is to strengthen control over the executive government as a result of enhancing functions of the State Audit Office.
With the help of this group, it will be possible to establish formal relations between the Parliament of Georgia and the State Audit Office what implies the discussion of reports prepared by the State Audit Office, organizing meetings of stakeholders and monitoring of implementation of recommendations issued by the State Audit Office.
