Next Anti-Corruption Meeting of the Interagency Coordination Council 29 June, 2015

Today, on June 29, next Anti-Corruption meeting of the Interagency Coordination Council took place in the “Radisson Blue Iveria” hotel. The meeting was headed by the Chair of the Council, Minister of Justice Tea Tsulukiani.

The goal of the meeting was the presentation and discussion of the amendments made in the Law of Georgia on “Conflict of Interests and Corruption in Public Service” concerning the establishment of the monitoring system of the officials’ asset declarations. The draft law was worked out by the Civil Service Bureau within the framework of the working group, one of the members of which is the State Audit Office.

Members of the Anti-Corruption Council – high-ranking officials of the executive, legislative and judicial government as well as non-governmental and international organizations and business sector representatives participated in the discussion of the draft law.  

Legislative amendments are based on the obligations of the visa liberalization action plan, recommendations of the OECD-CAN, other international and non-governmental organizations and experience of other states.

The decision on the creation of the working group for the establishment of the monitoring system of the officials’ asset declarations was made on February 4, 2015, at the Anti-Corruption Meeting, with the aim to work out the tools of the asset declarations monitoring system and to ensure correctness and completeness of the information of the asset declarations filled by the officials.
