Today, on July 7, representatives of the State Audit Office held public meeting with the representatives of Guria region.
Main gaps and recommendations issued by the State Audit Office as a result of audits in municipalities were discussed at the meeting. In addition, the representatives of the SAO presented information about the new Innovative Webplatform - Budget Monitor (www.budgetmonitor.ge) .
Budget Monitoring gives members of the City Council, civil society representatives, experts, stakeholders and citizens a unique opportunity to select area of their interest and receive regularly updated and reliable information about revenues, expenditures, transfers, infrastructural projects, administrative expenses of each municipality, expenses of legal entities and as a result of audit revealed findings and issued recommendations.
Same public discussions will be held in different Georgian cities as well, namely - Batumi, Tbilisi.
Public discussions between the SAO and the USAID Program are implemented within the framework of the program "Good Governance Initiative’s” project - "Citizens Involvement in Audit Process".
