Today, on October 6, non-governmental organization “Transparency International – Georgia” presented 2016 report on financing of political parties, which includes the current situation in regard of the financing of political parties. Along with other issues, the report analyses contributions made in favor of political parties during the period of January 1, 2016 – September 1, 2016.
In this document, the activity of the State Audit Office is assessed positively: “in 2016, the activity of the State Audit Office can again be assessed positively,” says the report. It should be noted that such claims concerning the State Audit Office did not take place during 2013 Presidential and 2014 self-government elections.
The State Audit Office considers the report of the “Transparency International – Georgia” as important and continues its cooperation with this organization as well as with all local and international organizations involved in the elections’ monitoring process.
