STATE AUDIT OFFICE OF GEORGIA

SAO TOOK PART IN MPS’ TENTATIVE TRAINING PROGRAM 31 January, 2017

On January 23-25 and 30-31, 2017, the State Audit Office took part in MPs’ tentative program organized by donor organizations (EU/UNDP, WFD, NDI, USAID/GGI). This program is envisaged for newly elected members of Parliament (those, who were not part of the Parliament last year) and mainly relates to the implementation of their authority under the constitution.

About 70 MPs took art in the program, who were working in five groups. During the training course, members of the Georgian Parliament, together with other issues, became aware of the role of the State Audit Office in the Public Finance Management process, its main functions and reports. In addition, within the framework of the presentation, they discussed how the SAO facilitates the Parliament with its activity in parliamentary oversight process and how it is possible to use findings and recommendations presented in the SAO’s reports. The presentation was held in discussion format.
