Today, on March 9, in Kutaisi, an event dedicated to the presentation of the new analitical platform “Budget Monitor” of the State Audit Office took place in the main lobby of the Georgian Parliament.
Web-platform (budgetmonitor.ge) gives members of Parliament, representatives of civil society and stakeholders the unique opportunity to select an interesting for them sphere and to permanently get updated and reliable information regarding the state revenues, expenses, debt, infrastructural projects, program budget, procurement, gaps and issued recommendations revealed as a result of audit.
„The State Audit Office has developed innovative web-platform “Budget Monitor”, which has no other analogue. The web-site is interactive so customers can easily get and perceive public resource management information, select desired information, process it, compare with any other information and predict,” stated Auditor General of the State Audit Office Lasha Tordia.
According to the USAID GGI Chief of Party David Smith, „Budget Monitor“ is unique and customer-oriented. „It is very interesting tool generally for active citizen as well as for media, NGOs and especially for MPs and Parliament’s staff," – stated David Smith
MPs and representatives of NGOs working on public finance management issues, media, Ministry of Finance of Georgia and Budget and Finance Committee of the Georgian Parliament attended the event.
