Seminar for the auditors of the State Audit Office started 01 March, 2018

Seminar for the auditors on the role of State Audit Office in preventing corruption and fraud started.

Three-day seminar is held by the expert, David R. Hancox, former Director of State Audits in the NYS Comptroller’s Office, who has experience of 41 years of auditing activities and will share it with auditors participating in the workshop. He will introduce new audit approaches, including the latest methods of data analysis of fraud, waste and illegal deals.

The seminar was opened by the Deputy Auditor General of the State Audit Office Eka Ghazadze.

"We discuss Georgia\'s anti-corruption policy and other countries\' experiences. We will also touch upon such issues as the methodology of identifying risks and the importance of data analysis in fraud. The State Audit Office is going to take effective measures to prevent corruption and fraud in the future as well ", Eka Ghazadze said.

Seminar issues are anti-corruption system review; threshold between audit and fraud investigation; Review of the Guideline Framework for risk Identification and reveal; Importance of data analysis in fraud identification; State Audit Office Cooperation with Law Enforcement Bodies.

The seminar is organized by USAID project "Better Governance Initiative".
