Analytical web-platform of the State Audit Office - "Budget Monitor" won the Worldwide Transparency Competition in Fiscal Transparency. The competition was organized by the Global Initiative of Fiscal Transparency (GIFT), and countries which have successful experience in the public transparency, namely, Germany, Portugal, Brazil, the Philippines, Mexico, Chile and others took part in it.
BudgetMonitor.ge, as an innovative web portal for transparency and involvement of citizens, will be presented at the Open Government Partnership (OGP) Regional Forum. GIFT will prepare the publication of the successful experience of the State Audit Office and share it with all the countries interested in this issue.
It should be noted that the website "Budget Monitor" is a unique analytical portal that allows interested parties to get information about management of public resources in a simple and perceptible way and to engage in its improvement process. By this initiative, the State Audit Office is distinguished from other countries and represents the supreme audit institution in this direction.
"Global Initiative of Fiscal Transparency " (GIFT) is a global platform that encourages government, civil society organizations, private sector and other stakeholders in fiscal transparency and citizens’ engagement. The GIFT manages Public Transparency Working Group of the Open Government Partnership (OGP) and establishes a prestigious international award for transparency in public finance.
