WORKSHOP IN USA 21 July, 2017

On July 17-21, Auditor General of the State Audit Office Lasha Tordia and First Deputy Auditor General Nino Lomjaria will hold meetings in the UN Headquarter, New York. These meetings are organized by UNDESA and IDI and is a high level political forum of sustainable development of the ministerial segment.

The aim of the meeting is to hold key discussions and knowledge sharing on critical issues of readiness to implement sustainable development goals. Discussions will be held on three goals of the joint performance audit, for the implementation of which Supreme Audit Institutions will be selected with the support of IDI and its partners:

  • Consolidation of the 2030 agenda in the national context;
  • Ensuring implementation mechanisms of the 2030 agenda;
  • Monitoring, follow up review, discussion and reporting of the 2030 agenda.

Moreover, the meeting aims to provide capabilities to increase the capacity of the supreme audit institutions in the field of sustainable development goals from the standpoint of the carrying out of the reliable performance audits and to discuss challenges and opportunities of the supreme audit institutions in order to contribute in the implementation of further activities and sustainable development goals.

In addition, on July 17-19, Marika Natsvlishvili, Head of State Budget Analytics and Strategic Planning Department will attend "Intergovernmental National Audit" and "Cyber Security" Forums in Washington DC.
