Today, on August 7, Interim Auditor General of the State Audit Office Nino Lomjaria held the meeting with the representatives of the non-governmental sector.
The aim of the meeting was to introduce the initiative for the NGO sector on the creation of a temporary commission working on the pre-election campaign monitoring of the local 2017 self-governance elections issues and the proposals of the State Audit Office - monitoring of the legality and transparency of political financing.
At the meeting, the issue of the current monitoring of the draft amendments of the audit office regulations and donations were also discussed.
In addition, it was noted that the State Audit Office would like to cooperate with the NGOs interested in the elections issue and which have experience in election campaign monitoring.
